Sam Mendes In Talks To Direct 'Skyfall' Follow-up
According to a report, Sam Mendes is in talks to direct a second Bond movie following the massive success of his 007 debut Skyfall.
The Daniel Craig blockbuster became the most successful Bond movie of all time, breaking box office records last year and scoring numerous awards including an Oscar for theme tune performer Adele and two British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Film Awards.
Despite the movie's huge success, British director Mendes expressed reluctance to return to direct a second installment, insisting the idea made him feel "physically ill," and he vowed to press ahead with his planned theatre work instead.
Nevertheless, Mendes is now said to be back in talks with Bond producers, who are enthusiastic to sign him up for second outing, according to Deadline.com.
The Oscar winner is reportedly considering starting production on his second 007 movie next year after he wraps up work on his musical version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and a staging of King Lear.
