Rob Lowe and Ginnifer Goodwin will be starring in an upcoming National Geographic TV movie about assassinated  President John F. Kennedy.

Former The West Wing star Lowe will play Kennedy, while Goodwin landed the role of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in the new drama "Killing Kennedy," which is based on Bill O'Reilly's bestselling novel of the same name.

Michelle Trachtenberg will play Russian-born Marina Oswald, the wife of accused killer Lee Harvey Oswald, who was shot and killed by nightclub owner Jack Ruby before he could face trial.

On Tuesday, Trachtenberg posted on Twitter: "Excited to FINALLY announce I'm starring with @RobLowe in @natgeochannel movie KILLINGKENNEDY as Marina Oswald, Lee Harvey Oswald's wife! This will be my first role speaking entirely in Russian."

Production on the project is set to begin in Richmond, Va.,  next month, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The film will air later this year to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Kennedy's death.
