Award-winning actor and musician Rick Springfield returns as General Hospital's Dr. Noah Drake, the role he originated nearly 25 years ago, it was announced today by Brian Frons, president of ABC Daytime. Springfield's first airdate will be December 2.

"Dr. Noah Drake has always been a fan favorite and we are so happy that storyline will allow for the character to make an exciting return to the canvas," said Mr. Frons in making the announcement. Springfield added, "I guess there was a reason why they didn't kill Noah off in the '80s. This should be fun. I'm looking forward to it."

In the upcoming storyline, Noah returns to Port Charles when Dr. Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) urgently needs him for his medical expertise in helping Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) recover from his life-threatening seizures.
