Rapper Cassidy Arrested For Probation Violation
Rapper Cassidy has been arrested in New Jersey for violating his probation amid reports he's wanted in connection to a murder case.
The Hotel hit-maker, real name Barry Reese, was taken into custody in his hometown of Hackensack on Saturday after detectives from the Philadelphia Police Department in Pennsylvania notified local cops that there was an open warrant for his arrest.
However, authorities have since revealed Reese is also facing allegations of involvement in a murder and two attempted murders in his native Philadelphia, according to news website NorthJersey.com.
Police Lieutenant Timothy Lloyd claims Hackensack officers were warned "to consider this person armed and dangerous," adding it was a "high-risk warrant," although further details regarding the more serious allegations have not been revealed.
Cassidy, 28, was taken to Bergen County Jail in New Jersey and is being held on $200,000 bail. He is expected to be extradited to Philadelphia to face the murder accusations.
The rapper is no stranger to serious legal issues - he was hit with a first-degree murder charge stemming from the fatal shooting of a man in Philadelphia in 2005, but the count was later reduced to involuntary manslaughter due to insufficient evidence. He served eight months behind bars for the crime.
