Nirvana Nominated For 2014 Induction Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame
Nirvana has made it onto the official ballot for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the band's first year of eligibility.
The Seattle grunge rock trio heads up this year's list of 16 nominees, which also includes first-time nominees Linda Ronstadt, Hall & Oates, Peter Gabriel and Yes.
KISS, Deep Purple, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, The Replacements, Cat Stevens, LL Cool J, N.W.A., The Meters, Chic, Link Wray and The Zombies round out this year's field of nominees.
For just the second year, fans can vote for their five favorites on the official Rock Hall website, and currently Nirvana, Kiss, Deep Purple and Yes are leading the pack.
Once the fan vote winds up, the five nominees with the most votes will get one (yes, one) additional vote each in the final tally of votes from the more than 600 music industry personnel who ultimately choose the inductees.
Fans can vote until December 10, and the selected few who will make the class of 2014 will be announced later in December and inducted on April 10 in New York City.
