Remember this name: Gabby Douglas. You’re likely going to hear a lot about her in the next few weeks. A bubbly 16-year old gymnast affectionately known as the “flying squirrel,” she is poised to take the Olympics by storm as she attempts to become only the second African American woman to medal in the sport. But the journey that ends in London has been difficult. While her dad was serving in the army in Afghanistan, Gabby’s mom and sister made tremendous sacrifices to allow her to pursue what often seemed a very unlikely goal. Chris Jansing reports.
