There are those that say the key to winning a track meet is to both start and finish strong, while simply keeping pace in the middle. Well, someone should have told that to Every Avenue and their latest effervescent oeuvre, 'Picture Perfect.'
'Red Right Return' by Janus is phenomenal, a massive piece of near perfect modern rock sensibilities. This masterpiece is truly driven by outstanding hooks fueled by frontman'Sci-Fi Crimes' Can Be a Good Thing Too: A Conversation with Pete Loeffler from Chevelle

From Unsigned To Crue Fest: A Q&A With John Allen Of Charm City Devils

Charm City Devils are a bit of a success story if you look at it. Two years ago, the band wasn't even together, as a matter of fact, the 'band' was just former SR-71 drummer John Allen
The Learning Curve is back. We have taken a few weeks off during the summer to collect ourselves (and enjoy the new in-ground pool/hot tub at the house), but it's now time to go back to breaking new bands.
As you may have come to expect here at the Learning Curve, we are all about bringing you diversity each and every time out. This week things are no different.
The Dangerous Summer are the next band in a long line of solid powerpop acts that Hopeless Records has churned out, and they probably won't be the last.
Metal and indie, and even powerpop. They usually don't really go all that well together, except for of course, when they are at the Learning Curve.
This week the Learning Curve is a little more diverse in sound. Normally, it tends to be centralized, either it be rock or metal or indie, but this week we are changing things up
It's time for part three of our oft-published International version of the Learning Curve. Remember, we here at the LC don't have boundaries within just the United States of America.
As a self professed cross between Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey, The Pixies, Fugazi and Incubus, Arkansas' Always April certainly have a shroud of mystery around them.
The Learning Curve is going decidedly heavier this week, so hopefully you're strapped in and your seats are in the upright position.
It has been five long years since we last heard from Fastball, and not since 2004's widely overlooked 'Keep Your Wig On' has the band released an album. Well, the wait is over
Yeah, I do say it often, but still, it bears repeating my friends - this weeks' Learning Curve has it all, for reals this time, I promise. Just check it out.
With names such as the Warhound, the Rath, Cannibal, Devilmaker and Lord Thundarr, you would expect a band to be one of two things.

Apr 7th, 2009 2:41pm EDTIt took all of 27 years to happen, but as they say 'there is no time like the present,' as perhaps the most recognizable of rock acts,
We have lots of diversity on this week's 'Learning Curve'. Tune in and check them out.
Celebrity, She Was is a blatantly honest band. They believe in what they are doing with all of their hearts and want to share that sentiment with the world.
It might be weird to think that a band with as much commercial success as Shinedown would even think of breaking up after only two records. Especially when every single
This time around the Learning Curve is mixing things up a bit, going from heavy to light and touching on almost everything in-between along the way.
The Slow Learners cocky musical swagger sounds as if it were born in New York City smoky bars and exclusive venues, you know, the kind in alleys with no signs. They have a certain air of cool to them
This week my friends, it is all about bringing to you, the rock. Yes, rock music, you know it and hopefully love it, because you know very well your friends at the Learning Curve love it.
"I guess it's 'alternative rock,' whatever that means," says Postcode guitarist Mikie Daugherty of the bands' music. "It's loud, quiet, beautiful, dischordant, melodic."
Boasting a concrete modern rock sound influenced by such bands as Korn, Pantera and Killswitch Engage, as well as a new album, "The Test"
The Learning Curve this week spans the spectrum of many genres of music, from indie powerpop to Christian hard rock, all the way to punk/post-hardcore.
When it comes to success, the Prodigy has definitely had their fair share. It may be going out on a limb to say, due to the excellent body of work the band has amassed
This week the Learning Curve delves deeper into what bands could be on the brink of stardom, ready to break out. Some are signed and some aren't, but keep in mind
