Danica Patrick is back with all her new Sega friends.
To help launch Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed on the Nintendo 3DS (we reviewed the game on Xbox 360 recently), Danica Patrick recently participated in a spoof Driver’s Ed video:
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is out now on 3DS, as well as Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii U. The 3DS version includes exclusive bonus edition content such as “Metal Sonic as a playable character along with his transforming vehicle and Mod Pack, an additional Outrun Bay Track plus challenges and time trials and stickers for your in-game...

Anarchy Reigns [REVIEW]: A Surprisingly Fun Action/Beat ‘Em Up Title For a Great Price
Sometimes, games can really surprise you in how much you wind up liking them by the time you complete them—Anarchy Reigns is one of those games for me this year.
While it’s designed as an online multiplayer brawler by developer Platinum Games, I found myself sucked into the very short (under seven hours) single-player campaign. The world is set in a post-apocalyptic future and you need to compete a number of missions in an open world structure. It’s also a spiritual successor to a Wii game called MadWorld.
You’ll play four stages consisting of a number of missions two times—one set of sta...

WikiPad to Launch 7” Tablet in Spring 2013
WikiPad Inc. announced last week that they are bringing a 7” Wikipad tablet to retailers in spring 2013 for $249 for gamers.
The company was originally going to launch their first product with a 10” version, but they decided the “initial price point” might be too high, leading to the decision to launch with a 7” design.
The 7” tablet will feature 16 GB memory with micro SD slot to support an additional 32 GB of storage. It’s powered by the NVIDIA® Tegre® 3 quad-core mobile processor and offers an aspect ratio of 16:10. A number of services are expected to be available at launch, including...

Interview with Tom Hall on His Kickstarter for a Platform Adventure Game Creator Called Worlds of Wander
Know the name Tom Hall? You might not.
Know the name Commander Keen? That one, you probably do. You probably played a ton of games in that franchise in the 80s and 90s on your PC.
Tom Hall helped pioneer platform PC games and now he’s back on Kickstarter like so many other important game designers from the 80s and 90s. His pitch, however, is not only for a platform game, but for a game creator that can help you make games.
The Kickstarter for Worlds of Wander (plus a game made on it called Secret Spaceship Club) is currently below $100,000 of a goal of $400,000 with less than three wee...

Activision Releases 'The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct' Gameplay Trailer
Fans of The Walking Dead are no doubt looking forward to the premiere of the second half of the third season tonight on AMC. If they’re gamers, they might want to take a look at the recently released official gameplay trailer for Activision and Terminal Reality’s upcoming videogame, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.
The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is based on the AMC TV show. (There’s also an adventure game from Telltale that’s based on the comic… which the TV show is based on.)
Survival Instinct is a first-person action game where you play as Daryl and Merle Dixon, both voiced b...

The Testament of Sherlock Holmes [REVIEW]: Sherlock Fans Should Like This Game; Other Gamers Might Not Find It So Elementary
Sherlock Holmes has never been hotter in pop culture between a show on CBS and on the BBC, a set of movies starring Robert Downey Jr. and even a couple of video games over the last few years. The latest in the video game front was The Testament of Sherlock Holmes which came out in the fall of last year. Since it was a busy time of year when it came out, I’ve only recently gotten a chance to play the single player adventure game campaign.
The Testament of Sherlock Holmes is the first adventure game starring the famous London hero for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360—though you can also play i...

Two Dancing Games (Just Dance 4, Dance Central 3) and One Singing Game (SiNG Party) Prove I’m Tone Deaf and Have No Rhythm
There have been three games sitting atop my game pile since the fall of last year. I’ve avoided them with good reason. I not only knew I was going to be terrible at them, but more importantly, I did not want my roommate to see me (and hear me) being terrible at them.
But I finally took out SiNG Party, Just Dance 4 and Dance Central 3 recently to test them. They’re all great games in their own right, but they also prove that I’m tone deaf and have no rhythm.
SiNG Party for the new Wii U console includes more than 50 songs from the 60s to current pop hits—though I found very little that p...

Dead Space 3’s Associate Producer: We’re Bringing “Isaac Back to His Roots as an Engineer”
The first quarter of the year used to be a dumping ground for video games—all AAA titles came out in October and November, just in time for the holidays.
Not anymore. In fact, there’s probably more titles coming out this month and in March that I’m excited for than about some of the titles rumored for launch in the fall.
One of those titles is Dead Space 3, bringing players back to the role of Isaac Clark as he tries to destroy the Marker and fend off attacks from the Necromorphs. The highly anticipated title is out today and to get a little more detail on what players can expect, I recen...

Skylanders SWAP Force Coming This Fall
Activision announced early this morning the next iteration of the Skylanders franchise, Skylanders SWAP FORCE, is coming this fall.
SWAP Force builds upon the success of the previous two games (Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure and Skylanders Giants) in that players purchase real-life toys to place on a “portal” that transports the characters into the game. In the new game, players can now reconfigure 16 characters into more than 250 unique combinations by swapping out the top and bottom halves of the toys.
(Characters can also finally jump—something that’s been requested for the longest time ...

Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable [REVIEW]: An Incredibly Addictive, Fun, Not To Be Taken Too Seriously Vita Game
Sometimes, a cheesy game is exactly what you need—and want.
Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable is a re-mastered version of the classic shooter for the PlayStation Vita that includes seven new levels and the ability to play in co-op or versus mode with your friends.
If you never played the original as I hadn’t, you will face off against swarms of giant ants and spiders, tall robots, space ships and more in a third-person view. You need to save the Earth from an alien invasion as the member of the Earth Defense Force. Each level isn’t over until you’ve killed every enemy on screen.
