Morrissey has branded President Barack Obama "abysmal" for supporting the slaughter of 45 million turkeys for the nation's Thanksgiving celebrations.

The animal rights crusader has hit out at the American leader's administration ahead of the annual festivities on Thursday, slamming White House staff as "embarrassingly stupid" for holding a 'turkey pardon' when one bird is spared death on the President's orders.

Heavyweight boxing champ Vitali Klitschko is fighting to become president of the Ukraine.

Announcing his official run for his homeland's top job on Thursday, Klitschko revealed he plans to run for the presidency in 2015, and will not be stopped by critics.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is hoping to change the rules of the U.S. Constitution to allow him to run for president in 2016.

The actor, who stars opposite Sylvester Stallone in this week's "Escape Plan", was born in Austria, and thus is ineligible to hold the highest office in the country.

U2's Bono introduced Bill Clinton at a charity event in New York this week by performing his finest comedy impersonation of the former president.

On Tuesday, the 53 year-old singer was among the guests who were invited to speak at the Clinton Global Initiative conference in Manhattan and the star found himself with time to spare on stage when the statesman was late taking over.
