Singer-songwriter Eric Church looks set to dominate the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards after scoring seven nominations, ahead of Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert with five apiece.

The main nominations for the annual prize giving were announced on Wednesday and Church is set to compete in categories including Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for Chief, as well as Song of the Year for his Bruce Springsteen tribute Springsteen and Video of the Year for Creepin'.

British pop star Adele has scored a chart double after her mega-hit album 21 was named the best-selling record on iTunes for a second year running.

The Rolling In The Deep hit-maker was crowned the queen of iTunes last year when 21 was named the highest-selling record of 2011 by bosses of the online digital retailer.
