Plans For The Latest 'Wonder Woman' Movie Have Hit Their First Snag

Stop us if you've heard this one before -- plans for a Wonder Woman feature film have hit a snag.

The film, which will star Gal Gadot as the titular heroine, a role she'll reprise after next summer's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, has lost its director, Michelle MacLaren, who has exited the film due to creative differences, according to Variety magazine.

"Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together," a statement from the studio read.

Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne has been tapped to star in the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them," according to Variety.com.

The English actor is reportedly the producers' first choice to play the lead in the adaptation of J.K. Rowling's 2001 book.

The film is set 70 years prior to the events in the Harry Potter series and centers on a ficticious author named Newton Artemis Fido Scamander.

David Yates, who directed the final four films in the Potter franchise, is in talks to work on the project, which is set for a November, 2016 release.
