Plans For The Latest 'Wonder Woman' Movie Have Hit Their First Snag

Stop us if you've heard this one before -- plans for a Wonder Woman feature film have hit a snag.

The film, which will star Gal Gadot as the titular heroine, a role she'll reprise after next summer's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, has lost its director, Michelle MacLaren, who has exited the film due to creative differences, according to Variety magazine.

"Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together," a statement from the studio read.

Arrow star Stephen Amell just joined the cast of next summer's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel.

The actor confirmed the news on his Twitter and Facebook pages, revealing that he'll be playing the hockey mask-wearing vigilante and turtle ally Casey Jones.

"Somebody find me a hockey mask!!!" he tweeted with an image of the character.

"What a fantastic day. Honored to play Casey Jones in #TMNT2," he added on Facebook.

Director Sam Taylor-Johnson will not be returning to direct the sequels to the wildly popular "Fifty Shades of Grey" film.

The director had infamous clashes with the book series' author, E.L. James, over the way the films were adapted from her hugely successful novels

Production for the sequel of "Fifty Shades of Grey" titled "Fifty Shades Darker," has already been announced, but it might be without director Sam Taylor-Johnson.

Disney released some big news about two forthcoming films in the Star Wars saga on Thursday, revealing that the usual three-year wait between films in the first two trilogies has been halved, thus Star Wars: Episode VIII will hit theaters on May 26, 2017.

The second film in the series' sequel trilogy, which gets under way this December with Director J.J. Abrams' "The Force Awakens," also has a very significant release date: nearly 40 years to the day that the first Star Wars film was released way back in 1977. Disney's first planned Star Wars stand-alone movie officially has a title and its first star.

Actress Felicity Jones (The Theory Of Everything) is set to star in Rogue One, which will hit theaters on December 16, 2016 and be directed by Gareth Edwards (2014's Godzilla), Disney Chairman and CEO Robert Iger announced during a shareholder meeting in San Francisco on Thursday.
