Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o and Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie are the latest big names joining the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.

Lucasfilm announced on Monday that the two actresses would join original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker and Anthony Daniels in the film; along with saga newcomers Adam Driver, John Boyega, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley and Max von Sydow.

The persistent rumors claiming Channing Tatum would play Gambit of the X-Men appear to have had some solid sources.

Lauren Shuler, a producer of X-Men: Days of Future Past, has confirmed Tatum would play the cajun character during a conversation on the red carpet with TotalFilm.

Shuler brought up the idea of bringing Remy LeBeau/Gambit up to the big screen, and when asked what type of actor she would want to play the character, she simply said, "It is Channing... He’s a rogue, Channing, he's a rascal, like Remy LeBeau, and he can handle the action, we all know that."

A day after reports that Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill all happened to be in London, England, where Star Wars: Episode VII just happens to be filming, the official casting announcement for the film was released on And, indeed, the three stars will be returning for at least the first film in the new trilogy.

People magazine's "Most Beautiful" woman, Lupita Nyong'o, and Scarlett Johansson are close to signing on to the new "Jungle Book" movie.

Nyong'o is tapped to play Rakcha, a mother wolf who adopts lead character Mowgli, while Johansson is in talks for the role of Kaa, a python who hypnotizes her prey. Idris Elba will voice the villainous tiger Shere Khan.

The Disney film, a mix of live action and CGI, will be directed by Jon Faveau, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
