Recap: 'Supernatural' Cranks Up The Suspense Meter

April 23rd, 2015 11:15am EDT
Supernatural
There are a few different ways to watch “Supernatural.” As the Scare Factor eased with each passing season, I began to watch it by candlelight instead of at my parents’ house with every light on a bowl of rock salt in my lap. This week’s episode cranked up the Suspense O’ Meter, making “The Werther Project” one of the most intense episodes of the season.

Grab your 5-pound bag of rock salt, and let’s dive in, shall we?

The catalyst of John Winchester and his sons’ foray into what would become the family business was the psychological demons left by his wife’s death by the hands of actua...

Rarely Seen Relatives Pay A Visit On 'The Middle'

April 23rd, 2015 10:28am EDT
'The Middle' Season 6, Episode 21 Recap: 'Two of a Kind'
When rarely seen relatives come to visit – a time of great anticipation (stressful or hopeful) in real life, and the perfect way to establish backstory with guest characters on TV. With Dick van Dyke making his debut as Uncle Dutch, viewers of “The Middle” experienced that real anticipation. In the world of the show, his absence prior to this episode made it easy to demonstrate that he and Tag had been on the outs for years. Not to mention that Dick and Jerry van Dyke are brothers in real life, thus their portrayal as fictional brothers just made sense.

Typically in a long-simmering sit...

'The Americans' Epic Season 3 Finale Recap: Get Off The Phone Pa
Previously - Phillip and Elizabeth thought it would do their traumatized daughter good to fly to the U.S.S.R. and meet her dying grandmother (um...). Stan is on to Martha being the pen bugger. "Clark" took his wig off for Martha.

With nary a punch, gunshot or tire fire, the last 10 minutes of The Americans' season three finale ( "March 8, 1983") were completely epic and game-changed the show AGAIN. That would be three game-changers (Paige knows, Martha sees the wig come off, Paige tells) in one season!

Paige Jennings is the born-again Christian who is going to be the ruin of her family si...

'Arrow' Recap: 10 Insane Moments From 'The Fallen'
Asking didn't work. Impersonating the Arrow didn't work. Assassinating the Mayor of Starling City didn't work.

No, it turns out "stabbing Oliver's loved ones" is the tried-and-true way to convince Oliver Queen to become Ra's al Ghul. Which is exactly what happened in "The Fallen," the episode of "Arrow" that finally accomplished what "Arrow" has been building towards for almost an entire season now.

Oliver Queen is Ra's al Ghul. Which might make things awkward the next time "Arrow" crosses over with "The Flash."

Now let's count down the ten moments in "The Fallen" that left us gasping.

'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.': 'Frenemy Of My Frenemy'

April 22nd, 2015 12:00pm EDT
'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Recap: Skye's Dad Is Suddenly A Really
"The Frenemy of my Enemy" is such an apt title. This entire hour of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." was a mess of weird ties between characters who are supposed to hate each other, but have to put all that aside when Hydra suddenly rejoins the fracas in a major way. The lines aren't so much blurred as they are invisible. And also hidden behind a Helicarrier.

(Also, Hydra's newest head is one Baron Strucker, who just happens to be a part of "Avengers: Age of Ultron"- we're officially in "Age of Ultron" tie-in time, people).

The first of many strange alliance shifts: May is suddenly super sympathe...

'Grey's' Gives More Clues On Derek's Disappearance (Watch)

'Grey's Anatomy' Preview Video: Derek Plays Hero (Watch)
On the eve of an “episode America will not forget,” Shondaland is releasing more clues into Derek’s disappearance.

After witnessing a car crash en route to his D.C. meeting, Derek pulls car crash victims out of their toppled car, and shepherd’s (see what I did there) them away from the smoldering car before it explodes.

Quick thinking, McDreamy!! And it more than makes up for the non-existent first aid kit in his car. See the full teaser video below.

However, it’s still a mystery why flashing emergency lights were outside Meredith’s house last week. Any theories? Sound off below.

"Gr...

Latest 'Flash' Episode Setting Up Something Big?

'The Flash' Recap: 'Who is Harrison Wells?' Sets The Stage For A
What is it with "The Flash's" female characters slowly becoming totally unlikable?

Iris has been ice-cold to Eddie for weeks now (yes, he's obviously lying to her, but he's a cop and you'd think he'd get a pass on secret, potentially traumatic cop stuff he can't talk about). Also, from our perspective as TV-watchers, Eddie has been heroically helping the Flash while Iris keeps yelling at him.

Hopefully that "I'm helping the Flash" half-truth will mend them up nicely.

But in "Who is Harrison Wells?" Caitlin's begun the same process. Yes, we know she's a decent human being and she doesn't ...

'RHONY' Duke It Out Over Brunch

April 22nd, 2015 9:32am EDT
Ramona
Only this bunch could turn a late breakfast into a Battle Royale.

Still hangin' at Luann's in the Hamptons, Heather, Kristen and Carole get a text from Ramona about brunch in town, but they are already expected by Bethenny who is making brunch for them at her home.

Luann -- Ms. Manners -- advises that they should all go to both in an effort to keep the peace. Carole doesn't want to go to either. She wants to stay behind and go on a boat ride with Adam, Luann's personal chef, with whom there is a mutual flirtation.

But no. She and everyone from Team Luann go to Bethenny's. Ramona & Co. (D...
