While everyone was buzzing around Hollywood preparing for the Oscars on Sunday, a fun and edgy Independent Spirit Awards was happening down by the Santa Monica beaches on a beautiful sunny Saturday. Starpulse had the opportunity to hit The Official Presenter Gift Lounge backstage to do a bit of celeb spotting.
I walked in at the same time as 9-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis who has been the hit of the awards show circuit this season with her performance in Beasts of the Southern Wild. She was pretty in pink and she seemed to enjoy Mattel Games' movie-guessing game, Pass the Popcorn. I imagine ...

For the third year in a row, Starpulse was on the red carpet and talking to all of the celebs as they strolled by in their designer couture gowns. The pace was fast and furious as stars wizzed by to get into place for their performances and presenting duties. Sometimes it was difficult to get grab them, but even if we shouted a question or two, most of them graciously answered.
Our team this year grew to three people, with the addition of our production assistant, who tweeted and added photos to the Starpulse Instagram account throughout the day.

The Academy Awards have always been the pinnacle of yearly fashion, an opportunity for the world’s most glamorous stars to slip into something silky and ham it up for cameras. Who could forget some of Oscars showiest red carpet moments, from Cher’s feathered headgear and strappy leather get-up, to Bjork’s swan dress, to Gwyneth Paltrow’s elegant pink Calvin Klein? The last ten years have been decidedly less insane, but several stars have still ma...

It's February and awards season is in full swing with lots of stars hitting the red carpet. The numerous events going on not only include awards but also parties, premieres as well as the annual Mercedes Fashion Week in New York City. This week was highlighted by the 55th annual Grammy awards, where we saw lots of fashion hits, as well as some outrageous misses (maybe they were just looking for attention). First we saw Beyonce do it at the Presidential Inauguration, now we can officially call it a 2013 spring trend with Rihanna looking "Ooo La Liscious" with bright red/orange nails on the red carpet at the Grammys. Celebrity manicurist (and Rihanna's go-to girl for all things nails), Kimmie Kyees, created the look using LED gel polish.
"She wanted to match her dress perfectly with an orange-red color, so we blended two colors ("Ooh La Liscious" and "Red Carpet Reddy") to come up with the perfect look!"

After combining forces with rap legend Snoop Dogg back in 2011 to create their hit single 'Boyfriend', pop heartthrobs Big Time Rush are back in the studio working on a new hip-hop collaboration. Carlos Peña tells us exclusively the band's written a hook inside one of their new singles to be recorded by a girl rapper. We asked the boys if Nicki Minaj was a potential candidate and they quickly responded, stating, "No - Bieber can have her." After the Biebs coincidentally titled his 2012 hit single 'Boyfriend', its no surprise BTR's trying to stay away from a Minaj collab. Although the boys d...
