The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will lead the way at the 2013 Saturn Awards after landing nine nominations.

The Lord of the Rings prequel is up for the Best Fantasy prize alongside The Amazing Spider-Man, Life of Pi and Snow White and the Huntsman, while Jackson is shortlisted in the Best Director category with Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight Rises), Joss Whedon (The Avengers) and Ang Lee (Life of Pi).

Die Hard legend Bruce Willis was awarded France's highest cultural honor on Monday.

The actor became a Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters in recognition of his stellar movie career at a prize giving in Paris.

Willis, who attended the event with his wife Emma Heming, told the crowd he felt at home in France, but admitted he was against President Francois Hollande's plans to slap wealthy citizens with a 75 per cent tax.

The action star joked that he hoped he "would be able to complain about it if he lived in France."

Director Ang Lee was the big winner at the Visual Effects Society Awards on Tuesday - his Life Of Pi movie won four major trophies and he walked away with a special prize in honor of his career.
