Madonna Auctions Painting For $7.2 Million

Madonna has raised $7.2 million for charity after auctioning off a painting by Fernand Leger from her personal collection.

The 1921 work by the French cubist, entitled "Trois Femmes a la Table Rouge," was purchased by an anonymous bidder at Sotheby's auction house in New York.

Madonna has previously purchased the painting for $3.4 million in 1990. Former U.S. President Bill Clinton tried to get Led Zeppelin to reunite for the first time since 2007 for last year's Hurricane Sandy benefit in New York City.

Clinton tried to convince Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones while they were in Washington D.C. last December for the Kennedy Center Honors.

Davide Saltzman, director of the Robin Hood foundation, which organized the 12-12-12 concert at Madison Square Garden, told news show "60 Minutes" Sunday night that he and movie producer Harvey Weinstein put Clinton up to the task.

This summer, Tim McGraw will show off his generous side by awarding mortgage-free homes to military veterans and their families.

The country singer is continuing with his work for the HomeFront foundation and will award one military veteran and their family a newly renovated, mortgage-free home at each of the 31 stops on his Two Lanes of Freedom Tour.

Last year, McGraw teamed up with Chase bank and the Operation Homefront charitable foundation to launch the program, which has already awarded more than 30 homes to deserving military families.

Ben Affleck plans on living on just $1.50 per day next week after teaming up with poverty-awareness campaign Live Below the Line.

The non-profit group's goal is to raise awareness and give people "a glimpse into the lives of 1.4 billion people who have no choice but to live below the line every day — and who have to make $1.50 cover a lot more than food."

Bradley Cooper has heaped praise on Boston hospitals after their performance in saving the lives of the victims affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.

Three people were killed and over 175 were injured last Monday when two pressure cooker bombs went off near the finish line of the marathon.

Cooper is filming David O. Russell's "American Hustle" with Jennifer Lawrence, and took time from his schedule to meet victims still in the Boston Medical Center - including one man who lost both of his legs. Production on the film was paused after the bombings and during the manhunt on Friday.
