In Memoriam: Why 'Wedding Band' Will Be Missed

January 23rd, 2013 7:45am EST
Wedding Band
On Tuesday, TBS pulled the plug on Wedding Band, electing not to renew the comedy for a second season. It's a sad ending for a show BFTV earlier called the best new comedy on television, but it's also an opportunity to celebrate the ride. Here are five reasons why I'll miss rocking out with Mother of the Bride.

1) The music. You can't have a show called Wedding Band without good music, and it was hugely surprising how great the music was - not only because it was catchy, but because it was real. Shepherded by music guru Adam Schlesinger (from Fountains of Wayne and who also wrote the ridic...

January 10th, 2013 1:00pm EST
Will Arnett, Portia De Rossi, Jason Bateman and Tony Hale
The Television Critics Association waited all week for the Arrested Development panel held by Netflix. In fact, they’ve been waiting six years since the Fox series was cancelled. The major rumor was the cast would reunite for a movie, but Netflix is putting on a 14 episode season of episodes. The difference is each episode will focus on one member of the Bluth family. That was the only way they could get the entire cast back.

“They have other commitments, they’re on other shows, they have other contractual obligations,” series creator Mitch Hurwitz explained. “Their lives have gone on so i...

Jerry O'Connell and Portia De Rossi's reboot of classic TV show The Munsters has officially been axed despite drawing millions of viewers over Halloween.

The cult 1960s series was revived as Mockingbird Lane starring O'Connell as Herman Munster, De Rossi as his vampire bride Lily, and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa Munster.

However, bosses at NBC had a mixed reaction to the finished product and put the sitcom on the back burner.

They aired the pilot episode as a Halloween special in October, drawing more than 5.4 million viewers, but TV executives have now decided to axe the project for good...

Fox has put a hit out on The Mob Doctor. The network has confirmed that it won't order any additional episodes. The freshman drama has run its course.

It had to happen sooner or later. The Fox Network is cutting its losses. After months of struggling in the ratings, The Mob Doctor has been canceled. The series is one of the least-watched dramas on the major four networks.

According to Zap2it, The Mob Doctor averages 4.4 million viewers and a 1.3 in the 18–49 demo. With numbers like that, critics assumed it would have been pulled a while ago. But Fox stuck with it — until the network's han...

Brittany's Blog: This is my viewpoint, from the far end of the couch...and this week, I discuss the welcome return of a favorite to Bravo's Top Chef and on the opposite end of the spectrum, the disappointing decision by ABC to axe its compelling drama series Last Resort.
