4 Reasons To Watch Fox's Musical Drama 'Empire'

January 14th, 2015 11:20am EST
Empire
Fox kicked 2015 off not a bang, but with a slammin' beat thanks their new hip hopera, “Empire” starring Oscar nominees Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard. The series focuses on a fractured family, namely the secretly ill patriarch, Lucious, who needs one of his vastly different sons to run the titular record label. Cookie, Lucious’s drug-dealing ex-wife, is released from prison just in time to vie for power within the company herself. It’s "Dynasty" with gasp-worthy dialogue, modern swagger and thankfully no shoulder pads.

Here are 4 reasons to make “Empire” the headliner for Wednesd...

'Downton Abbey' Season 5 Premiere: The Aristocrats Are Back

January 5th, 2015 11:52am EST
Downton Abbey Season 5
The phenomenon that is Downton Abbey returns with a premiere episode that literally and figuratively sets their world on fire.

The twenties may be roaring (it's officially 1924), but it’s still the 19th century in the Crawley home – though for how long? The Labor Party has taken over the government and the new Prime Minister is a working class Joe – a far cry from the upstairs/downstairs values of DA. In fact, unlike Downton Abbey, other grand homes are cutting back on those in service, primarily because people no longer want to be maids and butlers, but desire to work in shops and factori...

'All Hail King Julien' Brings 'Madagascar' Favorite To Netflix
After the big-screen success of The Penguins of Madagascar, DreamWorks is giving another character from the popular Madagascar film franchise his own spin-off - this one a TV series on Netflix.

All Hail King Julien brings back Danny Jacobs as the voice of King Julien, the larger than life lemur, as audiences will get to see what he was like before the movies and before the Central Park Zoo animals descended on Madagascar.

While Julien still has lovable Mort and right-hand man Maurice to keep him company, he's also joined by "special ops" expert Clover, voiced by India de Beaufort. We rece...

'Pawn Stars': Rick Harrison On TV Fame, Business Sense And Givin
On History's Pawn Stars, you know Rick Harrison as the no-nonsense, all-knowing owner of Las Vegas' Gold and Silver Pawn Shop, who can appraise an antique gun one moment and deal for a piece of movie memorabilia the next. That's not a character: Rick is just as smart and shrewd as he appears on TV - not to mention tremendously funny and doing plenty of good deeds.

We had the opportunity to chat with Rick at last week's SEMA Show to discuss what it's like to be a reality television star, how that impacts running his actual business, and his work with the Epilepsy Foundation.

Pawn Stars, no...

'Awkward' Season 4 Episode 14 Recap Welcome To Hell, Rejection And Acceptance

October 8th, 2014 11:13am EDT
Awkward
I have a greater appreciation for my generation where college rejection letters were literally a hard copy letter wrapped around a thin envelope of terror. And mailed to your home where you have the luxury, at the very least, to wallow in being cast off in solitude. Unfortunately Jenna’s plugged-in gen warrants a more fast-paced approach to getting that fateful response.

And how horrifying is it when our fav self-conscious gal doesn’t get the reaction she expects in a crowded classroom of college acceptees, including bestie Tamara? Epically disappointing enough to keep the truth on the D.L...
