Mindy Kaling at New Fox Tuesday Event
Mindy Kaling was one of the standout employees of Dunder Mifflin on The Office. She’s got her own show now, which she created and in which she stars. The Mindy Project is Kaling’s version of a romantic comedy, where her character is obsessed with romantic comedies.

“I think the character really wants to picture herself as the protagonist in a romantic comedy,” Kaling told the Television Critics Association this summer. “Zoe [Jarman]'s character, she'll like, ‘Okay. She'll be my, like, sidekick receptionist, and she's be this,’ and where the comedy is, is how that doesn't match up to what...

NBC's 'Revolution' Review: More Than A Shot In The Dark?

September 17th, 2012 12:03pm EDT
Cast of Revolution
NBC has a much-needed hit their hands, and it’s not “Guys With Kids.”  It’s “Revolution,” a riveting sci-fi drama from the mind of “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke, produced by J.J. Abrams (“Lost,” “Fringe”) that could re-energize the institution of appointment television that’s withering, thanks to iTunes, Tivo and DVRs.

“Revolution” tells the story of life after a mysterious event that essentially kills electricity and all electronics, plunging the entire world into darkness. Fifteen years after the blackout governments have fallen.  States devolved into isolated republics and the sub...

Boardwalk Empire Season 3 Premiere: Review

September 17th, 2012 10:50am EDT
nucky
In perhaps one of the most anticipated television returns of the fall season, the 3rd season of "Boardwalk Empire" starts off with a bang.. literally. ( **Spoiler Alert**- If you haven't watched it yet-- you may want to hold off on reading the rest of this article.)

Admittedly, I was a late bloomer to the Emmy Award and Golden Globe winning show. Thanks to "HBOGo," I blew thru the first two seasons of the classic mobster story within 2 weeks, and it left me wanting more. It also left me extremely anxious, especially after last season's high body count- including the shocking murder of Jim...

Fall TV Preview: 6 Can't Miss New Shows

September 10th, 2012 1:05pm EDT
Stephen Amell
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. For many, that expression harkens up memories of a classic Christmas carol blaring though tinny mall speakers as you fight the crowds for the last three gifts on your lists. However, for this television blogger, Hollywood's newest crop of shows are all the presents I need. Judging strictly by the glittery wrapping that is their promos, here are my choices for this season’s can’t-miss new shows...

In the past few years, The CW has made valiant attempts to broaden their roster beyond shows geared towards the Bieber set with smarter, sle...

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip lasted one season and Mr. Sunshine got cancelled quick, but Go On hopes to be the new mainstay Matthew Perry show. Building off his more dramatic work, the show blends comedy and tragedy. Perry plays a sportscaster forced to go to grief therapy after the death of his wife.

“Behind everything is the fact that this guy just lost his wife, so there’s the reality of that,” Perry said speaking with the Television Critics Association this summer. “I don’t have a lot of experience grieving. I have ...
