Nicolas Cage: Not Your Average 'Joe'
Academy Award winner, Nicolas Cage's new film, "Joe" (Lionsgate) opened in limited release at select theaters on April 11. It's now also available for download on ITunes, which is how I viewed the film on my IPad since it wasn't available at a theater near me.

"Joe" is an independent drama film directed and produced by filmmaker, David Gordon Green. It's based on the novel by Larry Brown. It has a very dark script about an ex-convict with a hot-headed temper named Joe Ransom (Nicolas Cage), who befriends a 15-year-old boy named Gary looking for work, played by the incredibly talented risi...

10 Saddest Deaths In Kids' Movies
Most movies aimed at children over the years teach important life lessons that the kids can use to make the right decision when they grow older. The movies often end with the protagonist learning some tired and true fact about how you should always follow your heart or be honest and kind.

In a lot of those same movies though, it's often the journey of how the character arrived at that life lesson that is just as remembered, especially if the events along the way were traumatic. Disney and other companies have not been afraid to put some very adult-like developments into their children's fi...

2014 has its first hit at the movies – Captain America: Winter Soldier has set a new record with a $96 million weekend opening, beating the previous record holder by $10 million.

Fast Five had set the record back in 2011 with a $86.2 million take, but it had no chance against a movie audience hungry for the first of many super hero films this year.

The strong American showing gives the film a $300 million worldwide total, topping the reported $170 million production price.

Biblical epic Noah tumbled hard, dropping to $17 million in its second weekend after a $72 million debut. Divergent ...

'Noah' Tops Weekend Box Office
Despite the controversy surrounding the film, "Noah" easily topped the weekend box office with $44 million in ticket sales. Many have been skeptical of the Bible film, starring Russell Crowe as the titular character, due to director Darren Aronofsky's loose interpretation of the religious tale.

Religious conservatives have blasted the movie, while Crowe has stood by his work, calling them "absolutely stupid" for making judgments about a film they haven't seen.

Crowe said on "Good Morning America" last week, "We've had probably over a year now of very harsh criticism from a bunch of people...

The computer-animated flick grabbed $21 million in its second week to put its total at $63 million, less than half of its estimated budget. Still, that was good enough to beat 300: Rise of an Empire, which was #1 last week but tumbled to a $19 million second weekend.

Need for Speed was the best new film of the weekend, taking $17 million at the box office against a relatively cheap $66 million budget. Tyler Perry’s The Single Moms Club took $8 million.
