'Man Of Steel' Zack Snyder's Superman Is Not All That Super

June 14th, 2013 1:02pm EDT
Man of Steel
Superman/Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a guy with, angst, a great deal of angst. He wants to fly around the planet and save people, but thanks to his earth daddy, Jonathon Kent (Kevin Costner) he's afraid to do that.

What? Superman afraid? Yup or maybe paranoid is a better word.

Ever since he was a boy on the farm Clark was told by Jonathon that the world is not ready for him and that his super powers would scare people.

In 'Man Of Steel' directed by Zack Snyder ('300') and written by David Goyer, that certainly seems to be the case. At least for most of the film.

Which is part of...

Steve Byrne Reopens The Bar For Second Season Of 'Sullivan & Son'

June 13th, 2013 12:05pm EDT
Steve Byrne
TBS's Sullivan & Son has become a comfortable place to visit for TV audiences on Thursday nights. It's familiar enough for audiences to grasp, is willing to push the envelope enough to feel fresh, and the cast have bent over backwards to make it feel like a real hangout. As the bar comedy serves up its second season, BFTV reconnected with star-producer Steve Byrne between stand-up comedy gigs to ask him how his charming idea for a TV show emerged into the good time it is today.

"I think what makes any show successful is any time it has its own voice and it doesn't sound like anything else,...

Harold Perrineau deserves an Emmy Award nomination for his work on Sons of Anarchy. And if he should win - after having one of the best individual years for an actor - TV fans will be saying, "It's about damn time."

Since then, every time you see his name in the credits, it's like getting a visit from an old friend. You know that he's always going to give a watchable performance, whether it's his SAG Award-winning role as Michael Dawson on Lost, his pitch-perfect co...

The first official trailer for the second film in Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy, The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug, has finally arrived.

Kimberly Elise Is One Tough Mother on VH1's 'Hit the Floor'

June 10th, 2013 3:40pm EDT
Kimberly Elise
Kimberly Elise is holding court on VH1. On the channel's new original series Hit the Floor, she plays Sloane Hayes, the protective mother of protagonist Ahsha Hayes, who hasn't yet told Ahsha that basketball coach Pete Davenport is her father. That's a pretty big omission! Yet as Kimberly plays her, Sloane provides maternal concern, sanity and grace in the middle of Hit the Floor's drama-filled world. Kimberly recently connected with BFTV to give us the dish on her hot new role.

"It's so well written and the plot is so addictive. It's just a fun, addictive, fascinating show," she enthused....

Review: 'The Internship' An Unexpected Surprise And Really Fun Film

June 8th, 2013 8:25am EDT
The Internship
I was really expecting not to like this film.  I thought it would be the same old Vince Vaughn comedy that I've seen hundreds of times before and frankly I wasn't all that crazy about going.

So I was really surprised, when I found myself laughing aloud.  'The Internship' is a really funny, clever and even a touching film; filled with endearing characters and a theme that everyone (no matter what your age) will be able to relate to. It's never too late to go after your dreams, unless, of course, you're 80 years old and want to be an astronaut or prima ballerina.

But that's not the case in...
