How Many Sharks Have Your Favorite Shows Jumped?

April 19th, 2014 10:00am EDT
Supernatural
In the fickle word of entertainment, it's rare when a television show makes it through its first season. For the lucky shows that do, they risk jumping the shark, Hollywood's term for a show's cringe-worthy decline due to over-the-top or nonsensical plotlines. Has your favorite long-running series like "Supernatural" or "The Good Wife" made the leap? Read on to find out...

"Supernatural"

It's a little baffling that the CW's sci-fi show is bringing in some of its best ratings yet in its ninth season. It's mind-boggling to realize that after nearly 200 episodes, "Supernatural" is s...

Gwen Stefani To Replace Pregnant Christina Aguilera On 'The Voic
While Christina Aguilera prepares for the birth of her second child, she’ll be taking a break from “The Voice,” and Gwen Stefani will take her place on the judging panel – at least for a little while.

NBC reportedly wanted Aguilera to continue shooting despite her condition, but the pop star decided she wanted to to take a hiatus.

Stefani has only signed a contract for one season, and Aguilera plans on returning to her position in the spinning chair on seas...

'American Idol' Recap: Dexter Roberts Goes Home In A Shocker + Power Rankings

'American Idol' Recap: Dexter Roberts Goes Home In A Shocker + P
Well...this is embarrassing. It seems the Power Rankings have become about as useful as one of Keith's comments.

Yes, this season's favorite, Dexter Roberts, went home last night in a result that left me flabbergasted. He was a guy with a guitar. He sang country. He clearly was more popular than Sam Woolf who'd already been voted off previously. How exactly does this guy go home so soon?

It's a mystery that shows this series is getting more unpredictable. Likely spurred by the lack of unified voting base - it's not just tween girls texting, it's likely that weird middle-aged guy with a mo...

'The Vampire Diaries' Season 5 Episode 18: 'Resident Evil' Review

April 18th, 2014 8:52am EDT
The Vampire Diaries
Something’s not right in and beyond Mystic Falls. The Other Side is greyscaled. Forces beyond one’s comprehension pulls supernatural folk who’ve been in The Other Side into a black void—even an original vampire is afraid of what’s happening on the other side. Grams tells Bonnie that something happened when the dead travelers touched her, affecting the other side in ways no one understands. In Mystic Falls, visions of domestic bliss and contentment overwhelm Stefan and Elena. Marcos is responsible for the overpowering force of the black void on the other side, as well as the visions of happi...

FX's 'Fargo' Debuts with Two Psychos

April 17th, 2014 4:59pm EDT
Fargo
Fargo debuted on FX this Tuesday, in the spot of the just-concluded next-to-last season of the excellent Justified. I saw the 1996 movie, thought it was superb, but recall little other than the general setup. So I approached the television series with not much in the way of specific expectations. If the premiere is any indication, it looks like we're in for an experience even better than the movie - whose story, I've heard, has been changed at least a little for the television series.

The story on Tuesday night was basically a tale of two psychos. One, Lorne Malvo (perfectly played by Bill...

Adam Campbell And Alexis Carra Talk 'Mixology'
As ABC's Mixology heads down the home stretch of its first season, it's time to focus on Jessica and Ron. The single mother played by Alexis Carra and the really, really unlucky former Internet millionaire played by Adam Campbell have both had their ups and downs this season - but tonight their stories are about to intersect again. We checked in with Adam and Alexis to find out more, talk about their chemistry together, and get their best (or worst) dating advice.

We'll let Adam explain tonight's installment to you. "Much of this episode centers on Ron making up for his disastrous first im...

'Survivor: Cagayan' – Has Tony The Opportunist Overplayed His Hand?

April 17th, 2014 12:06pm EDT
Tony Vlachos during the ninth episode of SURVIVOR: CAGAYAN
Previously on, Survivor: Tony gave his idol to LJ, and LJ reciprocated, knocking two idols out of the game. When Kass flipped, the power shifted to Tony and LJ’s alliance. A new ‘special’ idol was hidden in camp, but the Hidden Immunity Idol Spencer found was just an ordinary one.

At Tribal Council, Morgan was the next voted off the island. Nine are left – who will be voted out tonight?

After Tribal Council, the remaining Survivors returned to camp. When Tony leaned his torch against a tree, he knocked over all the other torches, but walked away without picking them up. He was angry that...

'Grey's Anatomy' Recap: 'You Be Illin''

April 17th, 2014 11:46am EDT
Grey's Anatomy
Doctors treat sick patients all the time, but what happens when the doctors of Grey's Anatomy become the patients? We found out in this week's episode after a nasty flu made its way around the hospital.

After a patient sneezes on Arizona, she immediately knows that she'll be sick later in the day. Apparently it's some sort of sixth sense she's developed, which Alex mocks her about. She's not the only one, though - the hospital becomes overrun with patients dealing with flu-like symptoms and the staff starts to (literally) fall down one by one.

Arizona’s intuition forces her to move up her...

'American Idol' Top 7 Recap: Things Start Getting Weird
It's time to recap 'American Idol' with a skull-crushing cold and about half-a-bottle of Robitussin in my belly.

Look out. Things are about to get weird. Y'know, like letting rival contestants pick which song each Idol will sing.

Caleb Johnson sang "Family Tree" by Kings of Leon

Keith Said: That was a great choice. It really highlighted your strengths.

J-Lo Said: It's dangerous to put you first in the lineup: Now everybody else has to raise their game.

Harry Said: It sounded like a song that could be on your record.

The Verdict:

Are we completely certain Caleb isn't already in Kings ...

'Arrow' Season 2 Episode 19 Review: 'The Man Under The Hood'

April 17th, 2014 8:57am EDT
Arrow
The best scene of the episode happens in the medical cell at the Starling City Penitentiary, where Quentin’s healing from an assault by one of the many criminals he and the Arrow put behind bars. Quentin’s in jail because he helped the Arrow and wouldn’t give the police information about him. Laurel visits her father, bothered and upset by Slade’s truth bomb in the last episode about Oliver’s after-work activity. Quentin’s freedom depends on him offering any useful information about the man under the hood. Laurel approaches her father with the information that’ll free him from the cell, fre...
