One Direction Transition To Adulthood On 'Four'

Review: One Direction Transition To Adulthood On 'Four'
“You’re insecure / don’t know what for / you’re turning heads when you walk through the door.” Grunt! It wasn’t that long ago that one of the most annoyingly, a catchy boy band song was born, to the delight of girls and to the chagrin of (many) guys. However, beginning with One Direction’s Midnight Memories album, any Directioner or non-Directioner could feel the band was beginning a transition stylistically and in regards to overall maturity.

The British-Irish band’s fourth album, Four is a full-fledged transitional album, finding the once schmaltzy boys transitioning gracefully to adu...

"Stone gives a bravura performance of the title song, at once defiant, pathetic and heroic," wrote The Guardian; while Britain's Mail Online called her performance a "triumph."

"I don't ...

'The Mindy Project': Diary Of A Mad Indian Woman

November 19th, 2014 12:07pm EST
The Mindy Project
If there was an episode for Mindy Kaling to submit to the Emmys, it should be this one. Sure, there are episodes that showcase her character’s amazing chemistry and romance with Danny Castellano, or where she spars against Annette Castellano or wingman for Peter. But this episode is a welcome change to the season three Mindy formula. Mindy’s a doctor again and finally, finally, there is a crack in TV’s best relationship since Tammy and Coach Taylor.

Mindy, equipped with a brand new hair-do courtesy of a dead woman, wants Danny to spend more time at her place, which is an apartment full of...

We caught up with Laura last week to get a little dish on each series, talk about how she pulls off double duty, and ask her how she's going to program her DVR on Thursday nights.

After all, what's a girl ...

'New Girl' Recap: Why Are You a Teacher?

November 19th, 2014 11:56am EST
New Girl
Those who can’t do, teach, and those who can’t teach, teach gym, and also health apparently. But “New Girl” will have none of the negativity of that aphorism! Coach was assured several times throughout “Teachers” that Health is the most important subject in school. There may have been a bit of exaggeration here, but the sentiment was sincere. Coach’s colleagues really did believe that the students needed someone to yell at them about chlamydia.

This episode was purposeful in its simple title. It was a rejoinder to the words of George Bernard Shaw, Woody Allen, and Jack Black, serving ...

Is it too early to say that "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is on a roll after finally telling us what that alien gobbledygook was?

Aw hell, let's say it: "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is on a roll. May it never end.

And from last week, we've upgraded from discovering one secret to discovering 800 billion. In no particular order, let's lay out what "The Things We Bury" taught us about S.H.I.E.L.D.'s current situation:

The Diviner is not a weapon.

The Diviner is a tool to end humanity (except for a select few), from long long ago.

The Diviner holds something even more powerful inside it.

The sec...
