10.) Jim Profit (Profit) - There's never been a bad guy on TV quite so amoral, unscrupulous and willing to stop at nothing as Jim Profit (Adrian Pasdar). Today, most TV bad guys are more ambiguous or show signs of vulnerability, but Jim Profit had no such qualms about the things he'd done when the deeply dark show aired on FOX in 1996. To him, the deeds were merely the means needed to reach a desired outcome and if that included infiltrating a therapy session to stir up memories of an investigator's sexually troubled past or framing a coworker, then so be it. The DVD back cover says it best: "Here was a 'hero' for whom greed, blackmail, incest, sexual manipulation and even murder were all in a day's work." To himself and fans of the show, Profit is the ultimate anti-hero.
