This documentary is an unbecoming glimpse inside America's corporate controlled food industry. Its goal is to show that the American food supply is controlled by companies that put profit ahead of consumer wellbeing and the safety of workers.
Robert Kenner, known for his work on the series "The American Experience" directs this documentary. The film features authors Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser. Schlosser is best known for his exposé, "Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal."
SEE IT, RENT IT, OR SKIP IT? Rent it. This documentary seems to contain rather poignant information and serious social commentary on the food industry which make it worth viewing. As a limited release however it will be difficult to find in theaters. If you're like me, you're probably also more interested in watching documentaries at home than in theaters.
A ski vacation goes horribly wrong for a group of medical students in this Norwegian horror comedy, as they are pitted against the ultimate menace: Nazi zombies.
"Dead Snow," clearly a laugh out loud horror film, is brought to the screen by relative newcomer Tommy Wirkola. Wirkola's previous effort was 2007's "Kill Buljo" a Norwegian parody of the American film "Kill Bill." Stig Frode Henriksen, Wirkola's writing partner on "Kill Buljo" teamed up with him again to help pen "Dead Snow."
SEE IT, RENT IT, OR SKIP IT? See it or rent it. If you are a fan of horror comedy in the vein of Sam Raimi, this film is a must see. As a fan of horror comedies and all things zombie, I was excited to see film with Nazi zombies. The fact that the trailer quotes "Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom" definitely won me over. Since the film is a limited release it might be hard to find in the theater, but I've read rumors it will be featured in some cable systems on demand, so definitely keep your eye out for it.
