All politics aside, Sarah Palin's daughter or not, Bristol would be a horrible prom date. Sure, maybe she is just a typical high schooler and being the daughter of a potential Vice President can put stress on a teenager. The way it seems, however, (especially from her ex, Levi's, point of view), Bristol is the type to get preggers after prom and not let her date see the baby. Levi has already complained to Tyra and Oprah, and he's done a great job of getting them on his side. Unfortunately for a non-famous, typical high schooler, it might be difficult to get the attention of big talk show stars. In that case, taking Bristol Palin to prom would result in never seeing the child you made at the after party.
