This 2003 film is based on the BBC miniseries in which novelist Dan Dark (played by Robert) is hospitalized for a painful skin disorder and believes that he is the detective in the book he is reading. The plot is all over the place and because it's a musical, they randomly burst out into song throughout the movie, which is distracting. To boot, we don't get to see the dapper Robert that we all love so much, instead we are forced to watch him in a hospital bed covered with lesions.
It's an 80's film that fails to be categorized as a classic. The top high school football quarterback, Johnny Walker, is being recruited by many college prospects, but he can't break away from his bad habits that make him who he is. Robert's character, Leo makes weird noises throughout the film and tends to go off on random tangents. Also, it's hard to picture Anthony Michael Hall as a football star.
Two girls meet outside a New York loft waiting for their boyfriends, who happen to be the same guy - Blake, played by Robert. They confront him inside the apartment and the rest of the movie is the conversation between the three. Although there is a very steamy sex scene in the film, any movie with Heather Graham should immediately be placed on the worst list.
This is probably one of the worst Disney movies ever made. Tim Allen plays a man trying to live a normal life despite the fact that he sporadically turns into a sheepdog and Robert plays Dr. Kozak, the man's physician. The BBC said that the film was "only stops short of leg-humping in his attempts to win our affections." Ouch!
