Heath Ledger met a tragic end last year, but his legend lives on after a superb, Oscar winning performance as the maniacal Joker in Batman Begins sequel The Dark Knight. We're still awaiting his final film, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, due later this year.

James McAvoy played wuss-tastic Wes Gibson before Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman turned him into a badass assassin in the action packed Wanted. Last year he starred opposite Keira Knightley in Best Pic nominee Atonement, a highly underrated film. We first noticed James as Mr. Tumnes in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
