Dead Calm
A husband and wife (Sam Neill and Nicole Kidman, in her first film role) decide to take a long boat trip to grieve the death of their son but soon find themselves, you guessed it, in the wrong place at the wrong time. While on their journey they come across another boat, just drifting on the ocean. There's one guy on board (Billy Zane), who says the crew on his ship died of food poisoning. Of course they didn't though, he killed them all! The dead calm of the water just adds to the extreme tenseness of many an uncomfortable situation. The husband finds out the truth about his new passenger's boat crew and the thrills escalate from there.

Perhaps they should have taken their mobile home through the American southwest...
