Early Preview: SyFy's '12 Monkeys'

Early Preview: Aaron Stanford Mesmerizes In SyFy's '12 Monkeys'
Aaron Stanford electrifies in SyFy's reboot of Bruce Willis' 1995 action flick, '12 Monkeys.' It is rare in a pilot for an actor to hit a character so completely and so perfectly. However, in '12 Monkeys,' Aaron amazingly hits every single possible nuance, note and facet of his character from start to finish. He was great as nerdy hacker Birkhoff in 'Nikita,' but in '12 Monkeys,' he's mesmerizing. During New York Comic Con, I caught a sneak preview of the pilot episode.

At the basic level, '12 Monkeys' follows a post-apocalyptic earth in the year 2043. Desperate to avoid a population-reduc...

Interview: SyFy's 'Bitten' Cast Bites Into the Big Apple

SyFy's 'Bitten' Cast Bites Into the Big Apple
Interviewing the cast of SyFy's 'Bitten' was one of my New York Comic Con highlights. I loved Kelley Armstrong's original novel 'Bitten,' which the TV show surrounds. The first season surrounds fledgling werewolf Elena (Laura Vandervoort) who avoids both the pack that 'raised' her and her longtime pack lover, Clay (Greyston Holt). Although bitten a decade ago, Elena prefers a human existence with her human lover, Philip, until a series of murders near her pack's home calls her back. The rest of the season features Elena's relationships with her fellow pack members including confidant Logan ...

Summer TV 2014's Top Villains!
You can’t have a good TV show without a villain. Even if it’s a reality show about making widgets, there’s got to be an evil widget in the mix making trouble for the rest of em’. With Summer 2014’s television season just about to set, we thought it would be fun to talk a look back and see which television evil-doers positively sizzled!

In no particular order (here there be spoilers!) …

Thomas Eichorst - The Strain (FX)

If you've been watching FX’s schlocky end-of-the-world vampire drama The Strain you've probably enjoyed Richard Sammel's chilly portrayal of the head vamp’s slithery ass...

Want To Smell Like A Shark? Tara Reid Has Got You Covered With 'Sharknado' Inspired Fragrance

August 3rd, 2014 7:00pm EDT
Tara Reid To Make A 'Sharknado' Inspired Perfume
That's right - Tara Reid is further cashing in on the 'Sharknado' phenomenon with her new perfume cleverly titled 'Shark.'

Despite what you might think Eau d' Sharknado might smell like (notably human viscera and chum) Tara insists that her upcoming fragrance will be "…incorporate a plethora of “lavender” colored flowers, which is Tara’s favorite color.” So, disappointingly, this actually has nothing to do with Sharks (false advertising at its finest.)

It won't make smaller fish swim away when they smell you, and it won't cause cyclonic devastation to cities or towns. Also, it probably wo...

"Sharknado 2" jumped 183 percent in viewership compared to the first film.

The shark-tastic program garnered a staggering 1 billion impressions on Twitter, according to a Syfy press release. More people chatted about Sharknado 2 than Miley Cyrus during MTV’s 2013 Video Music Awards, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on their wedding day or Transformers, The Lego Movie, Godzilla and 22 Jump Street on each of the film's worldwid...

'Sharknado 2: The Second One' Includes More Sharks, More Chainsa
Only time will tell whether "Sharknado 2: The Second One" will have the cultural significance as its predecessor, but we'll know tonight after it airs on Syfy.

During a press call with actors Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, and Vivica A. Fox and director Anthony C. Ferrante, the group talked about the highly anticipated sequel and what fans can expect this time around.

Reid promised "more sharks," while Fox said there will be a lot of action and cameos. "I was really pleasantly surprised how many people wanted to be a part of this film when they saw it. It's like, famous faces just keep popping u...

7 Ridiculous Movies That Are Crazier Than 'Sharknado'
Sharknado took Twitter by storm last August and has given the SyFy network an unexpected ongoing franchise. The latest installment hits the U.S. July 30 with Sharknado 2: The Second One. Yes, that's really the subtitle.

What's really amazing about Sharknado, even to SyFy executives, is that there have been countless other intentionally awful movies that mix monsters with disasters but Sharknado was the first to become a global phenomenon. If you're looking for a fix of the ridiculous, here are some of our favorite monster mashups.
