Rutledge Wood, Sam Witwer Set For 2014 Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race
By the time you're reading this, the 2014 Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race will be just hours away. At yesterday's practice and qualifying day, BFTV finally caught up with our friend and defending champion Rutledge Wood - who by virtue of his victory now starts in the Pro category - and newcomer to the field, but not to our audience, Sam Witwer. Here's what Rut and Sam had to tell us about their plans for handling this race and their future projects.

Rutledge is being a little, shall we say, cautious about his chances. "I think the only way that we'll have a shot is if we steal the keys to Al Uns...

'Helix' Season 1 Episode 11: Spiral Narrative

March 15th, 2014 8:50pm EDT
Helix
Well, Helix 1.11 ended with the Illurians - assuming that's how they're spelt - marching through the base in Cylonic storm trooper fashion. At their head is Scythe, some super cool deadly assassin.

So Helix continues adding newish elements, with at least beginning to consolidate some of the previous loose ends. The cure's definitely working - after a fashion - with Peter back in the human column for the first time since early in the season. It also definitely worked on Sarah and her different illness, after a headache scare that led to concerns she was slipping back. But the headache...

'Face Off's McKenzie Westmore: Not Your Ordinary Host
SyFy's Face Off may be the most unique competition series on television. It's not a talent show, it's not about crazy stunts - instead, it takes us inside the world of movie makeup to see who can create the most magic. BFTV connected with series host McKenzie Westmore last week to chat about the currently airing sixth season and her own Hollywood career - including if soaps or Star Trek has the more passionate fan base.

"When I started Face Off, I really went into it with what's meant to be will be," she told us, reflecting on the success of the show. "You just don't know. In the beginning...

'Helix' 1.8: Glacial Speed

February 21st, 2014 11:39pm EST
Helix
I know that things move slowly in the extreme cold, but in the case of Helix 1.8, that apparently applies to the speed with which the story unfolds. The one good result of this is that we're still in suspense about what is really going on. But there's only so long that a plot can stay in the deep freeze.

Ok, one big change did occur in 1.8, but that concerned a major player who was just introduced to the series last week. It was satisfying to see Sutton garroted to death, especially after Alan and Sarah's attempt to get rid of her figuratively blew up in their faces and not enough in ...

Ziering and Tara Reid will reprise their roles as Fin and April in the eagerly awaited "Sharknado" sequel. A freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a Sharknado on Big Apple residents and its most cher...
