Comic-Con 2014: Jenna Busch Unites Female Fans With Legion Of Le
Conventions like San Diego Comic-Con and this weekend's Dragon Con are all about bringing pop culture fans together. Not just to have a good time, but often we can change the landscape of fandom. That's what our colleague Jenna Busch is striving for with her new organization Legion of Leia, which aims "to raise awareness of the fact that women love sci-fi...and our contributions to it are out of this world." We sat down with Jenna at Comic-Con to learn more about Legion of Leia.

"It all came out of the Star Wars [Episode VII] casting, with the initial announcement that there was only one n...

'Power Rangers' Star Jason David Frank On 20 Years Of Morphin'
For those of us that grew up in the 1990's, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was a big deal. Many of us were fans of or even wanted to be the Green (later White) Ranger, as played by actor and mixed martial artist Jason David Frank. Jason has now been a part of the Power Rangers franchise for more than 20 years, and during San Diego Comic-Con he sat down with us for a chat about the longevity of his Ranger role.

"When I first booked Power Rangers, the [term] Power Ranger really, nobody really knew what that was," he reflected. "And I was only hired for a certain amount of episodes and I just d...

Blake sat down with us for San Diego Comic-Con to talk about scoring superheroes for The CW and his long working relationship with executive producer Greg Berlanti.

"We've been at it for twelve years now. This is a really, really long time," Blake said of his collaboration with Berlanti. "I met him in 2002. He was looking for someone to score his first show, Everwood. We met and I sent him a demo and he hired me. We have such a shorthand and such a trust. W...

Comic Con Cosplay 2014: The Good, The Weird And The Ugly
Every year movie and comic book fans, toy collectors, gamers and more descend upon Comic Con in San Diego, Calif., wearing all sorts of crazy costumes as they roam the halls of the San Diego Convention Center.

Cosplay, as it's known (which is short for costume play), is one of the biggest reasons to check out the annual convention.

Even celebrities get in on playing dress-up -- like former America's Next Top Model winner Adrianne Curry, whose often too-racy costumes were actually toned down a bit this year.

The season one winner attended the convention over its four day run in costume as...

Ben Affleck as Batman
Batman is celebrating his 75th birthday at this year's Comic Con, and to honor the Caped Crusader, Warner Bros. unveiled a new photo of Ben Affleck wearing the hero's famed cowl at the annual pop culture event.

While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is still nearly two years away, it's a good bet that DC Comics will be using the occasion to steal a little thunder from rival Marvel Comics, which will be trotting out several superhero films between now and then, beginning with this summer's Guardians of the Galaxy, which opens August 1 and will be the studio's main focus at Comic Con.

Bear McCreary: The Score Master

July 29th, 2013 1:37pm EDT
Bear McCreary
Bear McCreary is the best composer currently working in television.

No offense is intended to any of his colleagues, as there are plenty of talented folks providing scores for the small screen today - like Sean Callery (Homeland) and Robert Duncan (Last Resort), to name but two. But there is something superior about McCreary's work. You've likely heard him without knowing you've heard him; see Battlestar Galactica, The Cape, Caprica, Da Vinci's Demons, Defiance, Eureka, Human Target, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The Walking Dead. And if you know his name, then you're aware of h...
