First Image From Rovio's 'Angry Birds' Movie And Official Voice Cast Announced

It's been almost two years since video game maker Rovio revealed that its hugely popular app "Angry Birds" would be flying into movie theaters as an animated feature, and on Wednesday the company, along with distributor Sony Pictures Entertainment, revealed the first still shot from the film along with the stellar voice cast.

Fans of the game took to their slingshots over the last 48 hours with one goal in mind: helping to launch a billion birds in order to unlock the list of stars and the first image from the film, which is nearly guaranteed to be a box office smash.

Addictive Puzzle Game 'Tetris' To Become An 'Epic Sci-Fi Movie'

Threshold Entertainment, the company that brought video game franchise "Mortal Kombat" to the big screen has announced that it's set to bring another popular game to movie thieaters in the not-too-distant future: Tetris.

No, really.

The company's CEO, Larry Kasanoff, told the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday that Threshold has story in place that is "much more imaginative" than one might think, and that the film will be a "very big, epic sci-fi movie."

"This isn't a movie with a bunch of lines running around the page," he said. "We're not giving feet to the geometric shapes."

J.J. Abrams' production company, Bad Robot, released a 36-second teaser for the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VII" on Thursday, but it's not what you think.

The video is a single shot of Han Solo's spaceship the Millennium Falcon, and as the camera moves in along the cockpit-side of the ship, it stops on something that looks really familiar.
