The animated film "Home" easily took the top spot at the weekend box office, making $54 million.

The Dreamworks film centers on Oh (Jim Parsons, "The Big Bang Theory"), an alien on the run from his own people, who lands on Earth and makes friends with the adventurous Tip (Rihanna), who is on a quest of her own.

While promoting the film, openly gay Parsons talked about how great it was working with the pop star, telling Ellen DeGeneres she smelled like "heaven" and he had "this terribly weird crush on her."

How Did A Movie Starring Jennifer Lawrence And Bradley Cooper Flop?

Why Did A Major Movie Starring Jennifer Lawrence And Bradley Coo
"Serena" stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence as a couple undergoing hardship during the Great Depression. It was released this weekend.

Also, no one cared.

"Serena" was not a small film by any means- it cost roughly $30 million to make- and yet the film was shoved into the VOD ("Video on Demand," aka direct-to-video) and forgotten about almost before it was released.

Why would such a thing occur? One very simple reason: "Serena" is a truly terrible movie. Admittedly, we haven't seen it. But those who have... well, let's just say the reviews aren't positive.

"The film isn't bad en...

March 9th, 2015 6:29pm EDT
CELEBNAME
Neil Blomkamp's latest dystopian future flick, Chappie, topped the weekend box office, but that doesn't mean much considering the weekend overall was a total dud.

The film managed to pull in a dismal $13.3 million in its first week of release, but that was good enough to finish ahead of Will Smith's latest box office bomb Focus, which slipped to the number-two spot with just $10 million after a weak opening last weekend that saw it open to just $18.6 million.

This week's two other debutes, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Unfinished Business didn't fare well either. The sequel to...

Why Is 'Fifty Shades' Director Sam Taylor-Johnson Quitting The F
"Fifty Shades of Grey" made more than $80 million this weekend. $80 million. With numbers like that, you'd think the cast and crew would be set for life.

Well, director Sam Taylor-Johnson won't be. It's come out that the "Fifty Shades" helmer is ready to abandon the franchise and "pull out" of all future sequels.

The Sun (via Huffington Post UK) tells us why: apparently, Taylor-Johnson and "Fifty Shades" author E.L. James were at each other's throats throughout the film's entire production.

"Sam won't be back for the Fifty Shades sequels. She wants out and Universal knows that's the righ...

'American Sniper' Wins Second Weekend In A Row, Will Become The
This proves it: last weekend's out-of-nowhere "American Sniper" rout (a $90 million rout, no less) was no fluke. The Clint Eastwood-directed, Bradley Cooper-starring film about sniper Chris Kyle has stomped all over the box office for a second weekend in a row, ending in the #1 spot for a second time.

This past weekend, "American Sniper" drew in $64.4 million. Not only is that only a 28% drop from last week's take (far smaller than average, indicating the film has fantastic staying power), but it's got "American Sniper" locked in to become the most successful war film of all time.

"Americ...
