During the first annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards, David Beckham and his sons were slimed in gold. The soccer star received the first Legend Award at the event, held in Los Angeles on Thursday night.

Beckham's two youngest sons gave their dad his award following a video montage featuring the top moments of Beckham's career.

A few moments later, golden goo was blasted up from the stage floor, completely covering the Beckhams, who wound up looking like living Oscar statues.

Michael Sam Gives Emotional Speech At The ESPYs
Michael Sam received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award last night at the ESPYs. The defensive end for the St. Louis Rams is the first openly gay man drafted by the NFL, and he gave an emotional speech as he talked about his passion for football and his responsibility as a gay athlete.

He talked about tennis player Ashe's motto, "Start where you are, use what you have and do what you can," and added, "Those were words to live by, whether you're white or black. Young or old. Straight or gay."

British tennis star Elena Baltacha died over the weekend after battling liver cancer. Baltacha, 30, passed away at her English home on Sunday morning.

Her husband and former coach Nino Severino said in a statement: "We are heartbroken beyond words at the loss of our beautiful, talented and determined Bally. She was an amazing person and she touched so many people with her inspirational spirit, her warmth and her kindness."

According to reports, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will pay tribute to legendary heavy metal rockers Led Zeppelin at the Super Bowl.

This Sunday, the funk-metal rockers will join Bruno Mars for the big game's half-time show and drummer Chad Smith has let slip their performance plans in a new interview.

He tells Artisan News, "We're going to be playing Led Zeppelin's live version of Dazed And Confused."

Smith also admits he and his band mates were surprised to be asked to perform with Mars.
