Wishes Of A Television-aholic: 'Grey's Anatomy'

When “Grey’s Anatomy” made its triumphant mid-season premiere in 2005, it was the much-needed cure for my nasty case of Bad-Television-itis, and a lusty, dramatic, hilarious parallel to my real life. Back then, this television-aholic was just a college student who worked part-time at a hospital and fantasized about some of the more attractive doctors who offered me, a lowly clerk in medical records, more than a perfunctory smile. Of course, the men on “Grey’s Anatomy” are hotter than all of the doctors in said hospital combined and the drama is juicier than a Georgia peach.

Wishes Of A Television-aholic: 'Glee'

glee cast
Believe it or not, this television-aholic actually scoffed at the early promos of what would come to be FOX’s mega-hit, “Glee.” The show looked silly and childish, and I thought it would be cancelled before the fourth episode. My initial assumptions were glaringly and wonderfully wrong. “Glee” is the television equivalent of cotton candy—brightly colored, lighthearted and achingly sweet. It makes me feel inspired and happy while most of my favorite shows make me want to curl up in the fetal position and ugly-cry.

Unfortunately, the last season was a little more sour than sweet thanks t...

Wishes Of A Television-aholic: 'Supernatural'

Padalecki, Ackles
To say that I am a fan of “Supernatural”—The CW thriller with a rabid cult following—would be like saying that the Oprah Winfrey has a little bit of money in the bank. I have ravenously watched it, trolled the internet for spoilers and leaked script pages, and giddily listened to interviews from the writers, producers and actors who speak at conventions like Comic-Con.

I love this show—about two brothers who travel the country in a '67 Chevy Impala and hunt demons and other evil entities while dodging law enforcement—because of its dark humor, gut-wrenching drama, skin-crawling gore, and...

Wishes Of A Television-aholic: 'Castle'

July 28th, 2011 7:30pm EDT
Fillion, Katic
This television-aholic loves shows that construct their own unique, heightened reality with eccentric characters and a moving combination of drama and angst and comedy. This is why I have been a fan of ABC’s “Castle,” starring Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic, since the very beginning. The cases can be hokey, clichéd and easy to solve, but "Castle" is all about the will-they-won’t-they chemistry between the two romantic leads.

Last season, Richard Castle, my favorite fictional crime novelist played to whimsical perfection by Fillion, confessed his love to his partner, Detective Kate Bec...

Cast of Hawaii Five-0
For someone as obsessed with television as I am, the prospect of four months without new episodes of my shows is a maddening one. Thankfully, mid-July is finally upon us, and I can take comfort in the knowledge that most television shows have began production for the 2011-2012 season. To honor this momentous occasion, I will be detailing my wishes upcoming seasons of my beloved shows. I will do a different show every week, so stay tuned for your favorites and feel free to chime in too. First up: arguably the best rookie show of last season, CBS’ “Hawaii Five-0.”

The first season of...
