'General Hospital' Star Kelly Thiebaud On The Rise

April 2nd, 2013 12:40pm EDT
Kelly Thiebaud
Kelly Thiebaud has kept General Hospital fans wondering what she'll do next as the prickly Dr. Britt Westbourne. As GH celebrates its 50th anniversary this season, BFTV took the opportunity to get to know the actress behind the blackmailing doctor, and unsurprisingly, she's much more amenable than her alter ego.

"Playing Britt has just been a good time. Something you can't do as an actor is judge your character, but it's very easy to do that. At times I'd catch myself [saying] 'I can't understand why Patrick would want to be with me! I'm a horrible person!' But she's so fun," Kelly said wi...

'Pretty Little Liars' Recap: 'Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Inferno'

January 30th, 2013 11:17am EST
Pretty Little Liars
A heartbroken Spencer makes for excellent television, this much we already knew.  How great it would be to watch however …I think we undersold it.  She goes through so many emotions in this episode – every scene she isn’t in just doesn’t seem to measure up.

Stage 1:  Denial and Isolation

We start with Spencer having a sex dream with Toby that goes awry.  Articles of clothes are being removed and then the next thing you know, Toby is in full A garb and strangling her.  That’s enough to dry out any wet dream.  And our heroine (somehow that’s what she seems like) awakens to figure out that r...

Q&A: Marisol Nichols On Her 'Absolutely Hysterical' New Series 'GCB'

March 4th, 2012 12:00pm EST
Marisol Nichols
Actress Marisol Nichols, who plays Heather Cruz in ABC's new show GCB, calls the already much-talked about series "absolutely hysterical."

Based on the book Good Christian B--ches by Kim Gatlin, the series is clearly positioned to succeed Desperate Housewives as ABC's prime-time soap (it even follows Housewives tonight at 10 PM ET/PT). It centers around Amanda Vaughn (Leslie Bibb), who returns home to Dallas after a scandal to "sympathy and scheming," according to the network press release.

The series is a different flavor for Nichols, who's established herself playing a number of strong ...

Q&A: 'La Reina del Sur' Star Kate del Castillo

February 19th, 2012 11:30am EST
Kate del Castillo
Tonight, La Reina del Sur starts a second run on Mun2. The popular telenovela stars Kate del Castillo as Teresa Mendoza, who becomes the toughest woman in the Mexican drug world.

I recently sat down with Kate to ask her about the experience of playing 'The Queen of the North,' and the show having a second life.

Why this role, and how did it come to you?

I read the book probably ten to twelve years ago, and as an actress, you picture yourself doing a role like this. They were going to do the movie and I tried to seek this role [out] and I couldn't. Finally I stopped because Eva Mend...

TV Goodbye: Shows That Ended & Shows That Were Cancelled In 2011

December 31st, 2011 12:00pm EST
Canceled and Ended Shows in 2011
Ask the typical American to name 20 currently airing primetime television shows and they probably can't without doing some serious thinking. They'd probably even ramble off a few that were cancelled during the year or the year before without even realizing it.

In 2011 a myriad of television shows come to an end with over 80 leaving the airwaves, most of which you probably never even heard of (some were so small we didn't even include them in this year-end roundup).

Some had tearful goodbyes after long runs (Oprah, Big Love, Rescue Me), and others were canceled so fast we hardly even knew ...

AMC's Darabont Free Season 2 Premiere Emotionally Empty - My Goodbye To "The Walking Dead"

October 17th, 2011 8:10pm EDT
The Walking Dead
I must admit the only reason I got into "The Walking Dead" in the first place was the creative team of filmmaker Frank Darabont and KNB effects maestro Greg Nicotero. (Sorry AMC – you’re not that great on your own!) Being a movie guy all the way who doesn’t watch much TV, I was interested to see if the dynamic duo could convert a cinema lover like me to the boob tube week after week. The pilot episode was some of the best TV I’ve ever seen, not to mention pure Darabont, with zombie fun but also a distinctively dramatic and emotional through line you can only get with a director of that c...
