'Mulaney' Recap: 'He Has An Achilles Body'

January 26th, 2015 10:31am EST
Mulaney
What type of TV universe does “Mulaney” exist in? Is it the kind in which psychopaths can thrive in their own little pocket like in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”? Is it the show business exaggeration of “30 Rock”? Is it the mostly realistic world populated by main characters who act like they are at a slight remove from everything, a la “Seinfeld”? Or is it the touchy-feel sort of so many sitcoms that try to teach real-world lessons so didactically?

Because of this state of uncertainty, it is hard to know what conclusions to make about Lou teaching John about power moves. The op...

'Bob's Burgers' Recap: 'Late Afternoon In The Garden Of Bob And Louise'

January 26th, 2015 9:44am EST
Bob's Burgers
Bob Belcher’s passion comes out when he gets into activities that are not typically known for inspiring passion. This could be a recipe for annoying others, but for the most part, he does not indulge his interests at the expense of the people in his life who do not share them. This is partly because he has not very often had the opportunity to fully indulge his passions. Acceptance into the community garden changed all that.

Bob insisted that this opportunity was for the sake of the restaurant, and thus the family. He certainly seemed to believe this. Not that this was a particularly ...

'Girls' Recap Season 4 Episode 3: Someone Finally Tells Jessa Of
Previously - Hannah discovered that she's not exactly a revelation as a writer. And Elijah came to stay.

This episode of Girls finds the majority of the characters just talking and talking and talking these BS touchy-feely circles around everyone else as a way of masking their own selfish wants and needs. You’re like “uh, that’s pretty much the show, J.” I know, but it felt a lot more prevalent this evening.

Hannah has been in Iowa for pretty much a day when she’s all of a sudden deep into a personal crisis over writing. Maybe she doesn’t WANT to be a writer, she questions? As she tells ...

'Shameless' Review: The Best And Worst Of 'The Two Lisas'

'Shameless' Review: The Best And Worst Of 'The Two Lisas'
Shameless is always filled with incredible moments. It can take something wacky and turn it into a beautiful moment that defines characters and relationships in an honest way. But sometimes it can go so over the top that it hurts the characters irrevocably. The scene where Lip is finally kind to Mandy is sweet until you remember that she literally tried to murder Karen and destroyed her life forever. Any honest moment with Frank is destroyed by his various inhuman acts, including keeping a woman from a heart transplant. So many characters have had moments they can’t come back from and “The ...

'American Sniper' Wins Second Weekend In A Row, Will Become The
This proves it: last weekend's out-of-nowhere "American Sniper" rout (a $90 million rout, no less) was no fluke. The Clint Eastwood-directed, Bradley Cooper-starring film about sniper Chris Kyle has stomped all over the box office for a second weekend in a row, ending in the #1 spot for a second time.

This past weekend, "American Sniper" drew in $64.4 million. Not only is that only a 28% drop from last week's take (far smaller than average, indicating the film has fantastic staying power), but it's got "American Sniper" locked in to become the most successful war film of all time.

"Americ...

Miss Colombia Is Crowned Miss Universe

Miss Colombia, Paulina Vega, Is Crowned Miss Universe
Once more, the powers that be have picked out a new Miss Universe. And that woman is Miss Colombia, Paulina Vega.

Last night, Vega beat out 87 other woman to win the crown- although our own contestant, Miss USA Nia Sanchez, was runner-up.

Vega, despite winning the title, is not a pageant veteran- she admitted that the pageants leading into this year's Miss Universe competition were her first.

And probably her last- Vega is in the middle of a degree in Business Administration, and once she's done parading around the globe in her newly-awarded sash, she'll be returning to school.

On the e...

Is This Lindsay Lohan Selfie For Real?

Lindsay Lohan Shares Selfie With Shockingly Thin Waist, But It L
Either Lindsay Lohan's case of Chikungunya has resulted in a bigtime weight loss, or she's gotten pretty good at Photoshop.

We're guessing the latter. Linds put up a photo on herself on Instagram that reveals she's got a really tiny waist now, but something just isn't right.

The actress showed off in a side profile, wearing a very tight crop top with just a pair of panties, showing off her bare midsection and lots of upper thigh.

But if you look right behind her on the counter (about right in front of her hoo-ha), a couple of those hotel shampoo bottles are doing pretty good impressions ...

Celebrities That Turn 30 In 2015
30 years seems like a long time ago… because it was. In 1985 our world was waist deep in the glories of the 80s. We had hair bands, Care Bears, Swatches, the birth of Super Mario Brothers – what more could you ask for?

Also that year Ronald Reagan was sworn in his second term as President of the United States, the Coca-Cola Company decided we needed a new Coke (which sucked) and Windows 1.0 was released.

1985 marked the big Live Aid world concerts and famous artists got together to sing “We are the World.” Top songs on the airwaves that year included: Like a Virgin- Madonna, Don't You (Fo...

Review: Fall Out Boy Keep The Hits Coming On ‘American Beauty/Am
Every new Fall Out Boy album is “kind of a big deal” – yep. Face it – the boys who are now men have hit it big with hits like “Sugar We’re Going Down,” “This Ain’t A Scene,” and “My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark” just to name a few. And why shouldn’t their sixth studio album be highly anticipated? Led by surefire hit “Centuries” and sporting some of their fiercest artwork yet, American Beauty/American Psycho just screams, “listen to me!” Well maybe not literally, but those who partake of album ‘numero seis’ won’t be disappointed.

American Beauty/American Psycho opens with an “I...
