'Mulaney' Recap: 'Patriot Acts'

November 24th, 2014 11:55am EST
Mulaney
About a month ago, “Mulaney” had its season episode order cut down from 16 to 13, and it has now switched time slots with “Bob’s Burgers,” which leaves it vulnerable to being pre-empted by football. Its ratings have been rather dire, so barring any miraculous turnaround or unusually kind treatment from Fox executives, this could very well be the one and only season of this sitcom. The show has been improving, so it remains worth watching, if only to witness an experiment of the work of several talented people not quite working out.

The show’s last half hour was the best so far, displayin...

Prosecutors are looking into why "12 Years A Slave" star Dwight Henry wasn't charged in connection with a 2006 murder in New Orleans. According to the New Orleans Advocate, Leroy Paige was stabbed to death on Feb. 5.

Police arrested Henry but released him without charge, according to New Orleans Parish assistant district attorney Christopher Bowman. He told Reuters: "Our office pulled the file and it wasn't immediately apparent to us for what reason the case was refused."

Bowman added that the previous administration was less aggressive in prosecuting violent crime and decided to release ...

'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Recap: Jake Goes Postal
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine's" been going crazy with the guest stars, hasn't it? Kyra Sedgwick. Eva Longoria. Stephen Root and Sandra Bernhard. Now, add Ed Helms to this prestigious list of semi-important "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" players.

In "USPIS," Helms is Jack Danger, a big shot federal agent who's actually the exact opposite of all the things "big shot" and "federal agent" imply.

Danger (disappointment #1- it's pronounced "Donger") is a smarmy pencil-pusher who believes, in his heart of hearts, that he's the action hero his job title implies. Also, that the United States Postal Inspection Servic...

'The Walking Dead': 10 Badass Moments From 'Crossed'

November 24th, 2014 9:40am EST
The Walking Dead
“Crossed” proves that episodes that feature all of the characters are stronger than the episodes featuring one group at a time. Last week’s jaunt with Carol and Daryl was great, but we also had to endure Beth and Abraham’s episodes in order to get to it. These standalone episodes probably have more to do with filming schedules than creative opportunities, but they’re to the detriment of the show. In “Crossed” there was plenty of time for each of the groups: Rick’s group, those left at the church, Abraham’s dawdlers, and the hospital crew. Most of the characters got a moment to shine, even o...

Can Sting Save The Sinking 'The Last Ship'?
Sting will replace lead singer/actor Jimmy Nail in the Broadway show "The Last Ship." The British rocker's production opened on Oct. 26, and low ticket sales have prompted the singer to join the cast.

Sting will perform in eight shows a week from Dec. 9 until Jan. 10.

He told the New York Times: "I've been working on this show for five years and been at every rehearsal, every performance, so it's not like I've flown in from Planet Rock Star to save the day... (I would bare my butt) in Macy's if it will help our show... I didn't assume it would be cake coming to Broadway with an original ...

'Homeland's' Latest Is Very Intense

'Homeland' Recap Season 4 Episode 9: Latest Episode Is Beyond In
Previously - Everyone had a heart attack and died because this show is too intense.

You know how the ABC marketing team promos Scandal’s winter finale as this big deal where pulses will be pounded and none of us will ever be the same? Well, I’ve pulled this chair out for them so they can have a seat. They are the generic brand of suspenseful TV drama when compared to Homeland. I’m probably more into this show right now than my marriage (To the other Mr. Harvey: I kid, I kid!) because this “Brody who?” season 4 is killing it. Last night’s “winter finale” had me literally BELLOWING at the TV...
