Michael Vampire has sunk his teeth into music for quite some time now when he burst onto the music scene back in 2009 as the lead singer of the band Vampires Everywhere!  Since the release of their first single “Immortal Love” on MTV and Fuse, the band never looked back gaining popularity from many tours including Vans Warped Tour and of course Vampire’s signature stage presence.  Their first album Kiss The Sun Goodbye, ranked #1 on the iTunes metal charts in 2011.  Now Michael has begun his next music venture in the form of a hot new band called The Killing Lights and we had a chance to speak with him about the reason for the transition.

Michael shared with us, “I feel it’s the next great chapter in my music career. I like to look at it as my growth as a musician and as a person. In Vampires Everywhere! I was focusing on anger and depression of the past events in my life such as my near fatal car accident and screwed up relationships.  I chose the name The Killing Lights because it not only represents the closure of my near fatal car accident but it helps put closure to the pain I was feeling during the last 5 years of my life.  Killing Lights is about closure, positivity, & growth. We are focusing all of our attention on the music rather than focusing on the anger.”

Clearly a tale about redemption as a person and an artist, The Killing Lights should be the next powerful force in rock especially since music has recently fallen short on emotion, replaced instead with pure commerciality.  The recently released demo of the first single titled “Don’t Turn Around” on the bands upcoming album is now up on sound cloud, but there are no set tour dates for America’s debut.  Rather they are beginning their series of tours in the UK.

“We decided it would be an amazing idea to visit the UK on our first tour as The Killing Lights. I have so many fans out there that have been waiting patiently for VE to come overseas but we never made it over,” Michael explained.  “So I am excited to finally get to play the UK and share my new music with all the fans. Dates have been posted online & people are really excited about it.”

We look forward to seeing the future of “The Killing Lights” and the exciting differences that come with a fresh perspective.  If you aren’t going overseas anytime soon then you’re just going to have to wait a bit!
