Eddie Griffin Sued Over Controversial Comedy Performance
Eddie Griffin is facing a legal battle over a contentious show in California last year.
Leslie Champlin has filed legal papers against the comedian and the proprietors at Tommy T's Comedy Club in Pleasanton alleging she and her partner Fiona Walshe were publicly humiliated during his show there in July, 2012.
According to TMZ.com, Champlin claims the Undercover Brother star aimed an allegedly homophobic rant at the couple and thrust his crotch in their faces. Walshe threw her drink at the comedian, prompting Griffin to pour water on her.
The legal papers state the couple was thrown out of the club and Champlin is now suing for alleged civil rights violations, claiming she was discriminated against based on her sexual orientation.
Champlin also claims she was the victim of battery and negligence, and is demanding unspecified damages.
