Ben Affleck, Donnie Wahlberg & More Stars Offer Thoughts & Prayers After Boston Marathon Bombings

Following the horrifying bomb blasts during the Boston Marathon, Ben Affleck and a number of other celebrities have reached out to fellow Massachusetts natives to lend their support, thoughts and prayers.

Two explosions ripped through the Boylston Street area of Boston on Monday; three people died and more than 140 were injured.

Affleck, who grew up in Cambridge, wrote on Facebook:  "Such a senseless and tragic day. My family and I send our love to our beloved and resilient Boston."

Dane Cook, also from Cambridge, tweeted: "My prayers with everyone in Boston right now after this atrocious act of violence!!"

"The Office" star John Krasinksi, who comes from Newton, tweeted: "My heart and my prayers are in Boston and with everyone affected by this nightmare of an incident."

"Captain America" star Chris Evans, who hails from Sudbury, added: "Thoughts and prayers are with everybody in Boston. Heartbreaking..."

Boston native Donnie Wahlberg and Michael Chiklis took to Twitter to make sure their loved ones were okay.

New Kids on the Block bandmate Joey McIntyre, who participated in the marathon, assured Wahlberg he he had crossed the finish line just five minutes before the blasts occurred.

Chiklis wrote: "To all my people back home. Please let me know that you are alright."

Wahlberg tweeted Monday: "No words to describe the pain in my heart, at this moment, in seeing my city torn apart this way. So sad. Please #pray4boston & the victims." On Tuesday he posted: "Dearest Boston...Your resolve is unquestionable. Your character undeniable. Your history unparalleled. You've inspired us, all the way. You will again today."

A slew of other celebrities also joined in to share their condolences. Lindsay Lohan tweeted: "Sending prayers to everyone who was/is at the #bostonmarathon."

Rapper Lil Wayne wrote: "Prayers for Boston," while "Kick-Ass" actress Chloe Moretz posted, "Boston marathon, absolutely terrifying I hope everyone is okay... Horrific things happening in the world today. God bless those who have died and are injured."
