Lindsay Lohan sparked fears she would miss her court case in Los Angeles on Monday after she fled from a plane just minutes before take-off on Sunday night.
The Mean Girls actress was spotted at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday boarding a flight to L..A., where she is due in court on a charge of misleading police about a car crash in California last year.
However, she stunned onlookers by bolting from the aircraft and heading back to the departure lounge as the plane prepared to taxi to the runway. The actress and several other passengers abandoned the flight over fears of a fuel leak, according to TMZ.com.
Editors at the New York Daily News report Lohan was seen desperately trying to arrange a private plane to L.A. following the incident, and it appears her quest was successful as she later took to Twitter.com to write, "Thanks (drinks company) Mr. Pink for the private jet see you all in a few hours in LA."
Lohan is facing three charges, including reckless driving and providing false information to a police officer, relating to an accident in June last year. Attempts to agree a plea deal failed earlier this month and she is due to stand trial in California on Monday.
