Morrissey Battles Pneumonia, Cancels North American tour
As he continues to battle various health issues, Morrissey has been forced to cancel the remainder of his North American tour.
In January, Morrissey scrapped a series of dates due to a bleeding ulcer and throat condition Barrett's oesophagus.
While in San Francisco, Calif., over the weekend, the former frontman of The Smiths was diagnosed with double pneumonia, and he cancelled a gig in the city on Saturday. On Thursday, he axed a second performance at the Vive Latino festival in Mexico City.
The singer was scheduled to play a concert in Lawrence, Kansas, on Monday, but he has canceled the remaining 22 dates on his tour.
A statement from his management company reads: "Despite his best efforts to try to continue touring, Morrissey has to take a hiatus and will not be able to continue on the rest of the tour. Morrissey thanks all of his fans for their well wishes and thoughts."
