Boy George 'Fuming' Over Facebook Phonies
British pop star Boy George is "fuming" with bosses of Facebook.com over their alleged failure to help him take back his name from imposters on the site.
The former Culture Club star - real name George O'Dowd - reveals he had to fight to re-take his name on Twitter.com, but insists company officials were a great help to him as he was attempting to set up his page.
However, he doesn't have a page on social networking website Facebook because he claims executives have failed to stop other users setting up accounts in his name.
Speaking to Absolute Radio's Pete Donaldson at the BRIT Awards in London, the singer said, "I actually did (have to fight someone for my Twitter name). And Twitter were very nice and they actually got my name back. Facebook won't do it... Hundreds of people (have pages in my name)..."
"There's loads of George O'Dowds, there's loads of Boy GeorgesĀ I've got my own kind of official Boy George fan page, but I actually don't own my Facebook page which I mean, really... I'm fuming."
