Canadian crooner Michael Buble is set to become a first-time dad - his model wife is pregnant.

Argentine beauty Luisana Lopilato is due to give birth to the couple's first child later this year and they chose to announce the happy news with their own unique video on her website on Thursday morning.

The clip opens with the words, "Mike, Lu and... mini Buble!!", before sharing a sonogram of the unborn child with the message, "We're having a baby Buble!!!"

Buble, 37, has been preparing for fatherhood for some time - shortly after the couple's 2011 wedding, the Home hit-maker admitted, "I've said to her (Lopilato) a million times I'd love to have kids. But I always say to her, 'When you're ready - when you feel like you've lived and you've partied and done all the things you want to do. When you've worked your butt off, then tell me.'

"All my friends have babies so every time one of them says, 'Guess what, you're going to be an uncle,' part of me is so happy for them and the other part of me is jealous."
