Earlier this month Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted walking arm-in-arm with a brunette in New York City, and it appears the two are an item.

According to the National Enquirer, the woman is Iranian Mahsa Jafarian, a 26-year-old graduate student who is working on her Master's degree.

Jake and Mahsa reportedly met on a train in September and have been hanging out together ever since.

One insider explained, "He asked for her number and gave her a call a few days later to ask how she did on an exam she'd told him about... Mahsa thinks Jake is intelligent, well-rounded and a perfect gentleman - and she's completely smitten with him."
 
Gyllenhaal has dated a slew of celebrities, including Reese Witherspoon, Kirsten Dunst and Taylor Swift, who all happen to be blondes. Maybe he'll have more luck with a brunette?
