LeAnn Rimes has credited her recent rehab stint with giving her a fresh start in life after years of struggling with anxiety and stress issues.
The Blue singer admits she felt so alone as she fought to conquer her personal troubles until she decided to enroll in a 30-day treatment program the day after turning 30 in August. She says, "People look at you and go, 'Why are you struggling?' No one can quite understand why you hurt so badly."
Nevertheless, Rimes is grateful to have received the help she needed from medical professionals at the facility, and the treatment has allowed her to finally move past her battles.
She tells talk show host Katie Couric, "I feel like I am starting over even though I've had all these years behind me. How many people get to (start) over again in this day and age?"
Rimes turned to rehab after receiving a slew of nasty messages via Twitter.com. She subsequently launched legal action against Kimberly and Lexi Smiley, accusing them of invasion of privacy and releasing excerpts of a taped phone call she made to them about allegedly abusive messages sent via Twitter.com.
The Smileys are reportedly friends with Brandi Glanville, the ex-wife of Rimes' husband, actor Eddie Cibrian. Cibrian and Glanville's marriage ended in 2009 after the actor embarked on an affair with Rimes.
