Grammy-winning singer Michael Bolton is heading to the small screen after signing on to front an upcoming U.S. TV sitcom. 

The When a Man Loves a Woman hitmaker has shown off his comedic chops during guest appearances on sketch show Saturday Night Live and on Two And a Half Men, and now he is set to star in his own half-hour programme, called Michael Bolton's Daughter Is Destroying My Life. 

The show will follow a young writer who takes on a job as the singer's social media co-ordinator, only to discover she must also contend with Bolton's wild-child daughter, according to Deadline.com. 

The ABC show does not yet have a premiere date.
