The-Dream Named Vice President Of A&R At Def Jam Records

R&B hit-maker The-Dream has been appointed to the management team at hip-hop label Def Jam Records to help scout out new talent.
The singer/songwriter, who is responsible for penning Justin Bieber's smash hit Baby and Rihanna's Umbrella, will serve as Executive Vice President of A&R (artists and repertoire) at the label and will help to oversee current and new projects by its roster of artists.
A statement released by the star reads: "I am committed as I have been previously to bringing the power of belief in the artist back to the forefront. I share a unique view of an artist and as well as the business of music."
The-Dream will work closely with another recent appointment, Joie Manda, who was made President of Def Jam Recordings in March.
