The Foo Fighters have dismissed reports suggesting their concert in New York over the weekend would be their last, insisting the band is "not breaking up."
Dave Grohl's rock group performed at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park on Saturday night and the frontman sparked rumors of a split by saying goodbye to fans.
He told the crowd, "Without making a big deal out of it, we don't have any shows after this. This is it, man. This is the show where we come out and we play as many songs as we can in a short period of time, because, honestly, I don't know when we're gonna do it again and this is the perfect place to do it, right now, tonight."
Grohl's comments sparked uproar among fans but a spokesperson for the band has now insisted the split rumors are false, telling MTV.com, "They are definitely not breaking up."
The former Nirvana star previously sparked rumors of a break-up at Britain's Reading Festival in August when he said the gig would be the band's last for a while, but he later insisted his words had been taken out of context.
